Privacy Policy

This page explains what personal information Common Ground collects through this website, why, and what choices you have about it. This is a plain-language summary, not a substitute for legal advice — if you're relying on this page for real compliance purposes, have it reviewed by a lawyer familiar with data protection law in your jurisdiction (e.g. the GDPR, if you operate in or serve people in the EU/EEA).

What we collect

• If you browse the site: optional Google Analytics collects usage information after consent (see "Analytics" below).
• If you book a session: the booking button opens the practitioner’s external booking page. Information you enter there is handled by that practitioner and their booking provider under their own privacy terms.
• If you're a counselor with a profile: your name, email, bio, specialties, location, languages, session details, and photo, all of which you provide and control yourself through your dashboard.
• If you request access as a counselor: the name, email, and message you submit on the access-request form.

How we use it

• Personal booking links help you book directly with a practitioner. This site no longer collects new session requests through a booking form.
• Counselor profile data is displayed publicly on the site, exactly as the counselor enters it, once approved.
• Access requests are reviewed manually before any account is created.

Where it's stored

Profile and account data is stored with Supabase, our database provider. External booking information is handled by the practitioner’s chosen booking provider. Any earlier session requests submitted through this site may remain in Netlify Forms; removing the form does not delete those submissions.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand overall visitor traffic (e.g. how many people visit, which pages are popular), only after you accept analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies and records information such as page visits, device/browser details and interactions with public pages. We do not enable advertising personalisation. Your rights

• Counselors can view, edit, or permanently delete their own profile at any time through their dashboard.
• Anyone can request a copy of, or deletion of, any personal data we hold about them by contacting us (see below).

Cookies

This site uses minimal cookies/local storage: one to remember your analytics consent choice, and Supabase’s authentication storage if you’re logged in as a practitioner. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics also sets measurement cookies. Declining prevents the Analytics script from loading. We do not use Google Ads tracking.

Blog contributions and video

Published journal posts, author names, and cover images are public. Draft post text is accessible to its author and the blog editor. Uploaded cover images have public URLs, including while a post is a draft.

Blog videos are hosted by YouTube. The player only loads when you choose to play a video; this connects your browser to Google and is subject to YouTube’s privacy practices.
